Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has declared the government's commitment to making Nepal a country free of street-dependent people by 2025.

During a meeting with representatives of the Manavsewa Ashram at his official residence in Baluwatar today, PM Oli emphasized that the council of ministers' first meeting, held immediately after the formation of the current government, decided to eliminate street dependency by mid-July 2025.

PM Oli reaffirmed the government's support for the campaign to make streets free of people living on them due to various circumstances. He assured the necessary government measures to achieve this goal. Manavsewa Ashram representatives presented a congratulatory letter to PM Oli, who was appointed the 45th Prime Minister of Nepal by President Ramchandra Paudel on July 14.

The Ashram, a non-profit social organization, is dedicated to helping vulnerable communities such as the impoverished, disabled, homeless, and mentally or physically challenged individuals forced to live on the streets.
